Labenil (Labetalol) is a unique antihypertensive agent that provides a balanced approach to blood pressure management. Unlike standard beta-blockers, Labetalol also provides alpha-blocking activity, which causes vasodilation (widening of blood vessels) without significantly reducing the heart’s pumping efficiency.
It is clinically indicated for:
-
Chronic Hypertension: Long-term management of high blood pressure.
-
Hypertension in Pregnancy: Frequently preferred by specialists for managing blood pressure during pregnancy (Preeclampsia/Gestational Hypertension).
-
Emergency BP Control: Used when rapid yet controlled reduction of blood pressure is required.
The 10×15 pack is designed for long-term therapy, ensuring patients have a consistent supply of medication to maintain cardiovascular stability.
